The Story:
University students, Ray, Anna, Tyler, Halle, and Eisuke are enjoying college life and pursuing their dreams, but in reality, They have a secret mission, to fight against invading Reptilians from outer space. One day, Ray travels back in time to 330 million years ago on Earth, to find his missing friend Tyler who has fallen into a trap set by the evil alien, Dahar. During that time, Alpha, the God of the Earth, was planning to create a new civilization on Earth and invited Queen Zamza and her fellow Reptilian from the planet Zeta, to Earth. What is the ambition of Dahar? What will happen to Ray and Tyler? What is the plan for civilization by the God of the Earth?

The Characters:
Ray is a great leader with a strong sense of justice. He travels back to the age of the Genesis of the Earth to find his friend Tyler, where he encounters the God of the Earth, Alpha.

Anna is Ray’s girlfriend and wants to become a movie director in the future. She has a kind heart and cannot ignore those in need. She is always worried about Ray’s unpredictable behavior.

Tyler is a cool, clever and skillful person. He is researching UFOs in Professor Yoake’s lab. He falls into a trap set by the evil alien Dahar and goes missing.

Halle has a calm personality, but has a strong desire and heart to make her dreams come true. She is studying for graduate school to deepen her research on religious studies.

Eisuke is a free-spirited person. He uploaded his original song on the internet and it became a major hit. While studying to become a school teacher, he also is very active as a super-popular artist.

Zamza is the Queen of the planet Zeta of the Magellanic Clouds and the leader of all the Reptilians on the planet. She is known as the strongest in the universe. Invited by the God of the Earth, she heads toward evil alien with the ambition to destroy the plan of the God of the Earth. He is the messenger from the dark side of the universe. He is planning to invade the Earth with deep resentment and hatred towards Alpha.

The Crew:

Born in 1968. Animator, Animation Producer, Animation Director. Known for character designer in Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water, set designer in Cowboy Bepop, character designer in Neon Genesis Evangelion, and director of The Laws of the Universe-Part 0. His directed movie, The Mystical Laws, received Theatrical Feature Film REMI SPECIAL JURY AWARD on the 46th WorldFest Houston International Film Festival.

Born 1960 in Niigata. Composer. Learned music theory through self-study and researched on synthesizer multi-recording music. Known for the movies, Daybreak, The World We Live In, NHK Special, The First Emperor, Huis Ten Bosch, and many other movies, commercials, and event music. Received Best Featured Award on ACC CM Festival for his work on the commercial for Asahi Kasei. His artist name is M.I.Z.


The Laws of the Universe-Part I, which was simultaneously released in North America and Japan, took the number one spot at the Box Office in Japan on its opening weekend (October 13-14, source: Kogyo Tsushinsha).

The Trailer:

The film is well done overall, if a bit too long. The animation and voice acting are good. The story does meander a bit in the beginning but then settles into a coherent narrative. There is a lot of new-Age spirituality in this film. The overall message of harmony and love is a good one.
